Ryley Fick, a senior at Long Beach State, placed second in her section of the 3,000-meter steeplechase in a lifetime-best 10:12.84 at the Stanford Invitational at Cobb Track and Angell Field in Palo Alto, Calif. Fick was the top collegiate athlete in her section, trailing only Mexican professional athlete Arian Chia in 10:06.45.
